Golf carts are the first high-street vehicles being manufactured for the use of private consumer. These vehicles are not only inexpensive as compared to other vehicles, they are also environment friendly, hence are liked by most of the people these days. Basically, there are two types of golf carts namely electric carts and gas-powered carts. Electric golf carts As the name suggests the electric carts are run by the electricity. This kind of golf carts are left to be charge all through the night so that they can be used throughout the day to carry passengers from one place to another. A bank of standard lead acid batteries is the mechanism behind the electric engine of this type of golf carts. There are some electric carts available that can be recharged at any time e.g. when the vehicle is not being used. You can choose from any of the two power engines i.e. 36 volts and 48 volts. Out of these two the 48 volts model offers better performance. The other less common options include 24 volts and 72 volts. The most significant advantage of an electric cart is five to ten times economic to operate as compared to gas-powered golf. In fact, the businesses now days prefer to buy this environment friendly, gasoline engine for indoor use also. Gas-powered golf carts Though not as popular among users as an electric gas cart, the gas-powered carts still hold a significant place in some specific applications such as farming and hunting. The biggest advantage of gas-powered carts is that they offer you greater range, as you can carry one or two additional cans of gas in them. This kind of golf carts allows you to carry heavy loads and can be used for towing. The benefits associated with the electric golf carts have encouraged their increased use in university campuses to carry people, equipments and goods etc. Personnel holding extravagant sports events and golf course along with quiet neighborhoods also use the electric carts. As far as money is concerned, gas-powered carts and electric carts are available in almost similar price range. Though a majority of customers prefer to go for either gas-powered carts or electric carts, diesel utility vehicles are also available now. Diesel utility vehicles are comparatively inexpensive to operate, as it is cheaper as compared to regular gas and also provide more torque. Torque is more useful for towing and carrying heavyweight things. Though diesel utility vehicles might be comparatively less expensive to operate, the noise and pollution they produce often might be a problematic issue for certain communities. Most often, disabled people prefer to use golf carts to wheelchairs, as they offer better speed and safety to them. Golf carts are environment friendly and comparatively less expensive vehicles, that’s why more and more people & businesses prefer to buy and use these vehicles. © golf-training-aid.net All rights reserved.
